This policy governs how Perimetery PRO may be used. It forms part of the Terms of Service. Last updated 26 July 2026.
Permitted use
- Networks you personally own, such as your home network
- Networks belonging to an organisation that has authorised you in writing to administer them
- Isolated lab or test networks you control
- Client networks where you hold a documented engagement covering network management
Prohibited use
- Any network you do not own and are not authorised to administer, including shared accommodation, workplace, hotel, café and public networks
- Intercepting, recording or examining another person's communications without lawful authority
- Denying network access to coerce, harass, stalk or control another person
- Circumventing access controls, captive portals or bandwidth allocations imposed by a network operator
- Any use that breaches applicable computer misuse, interception, privacy or telecommunications law
If you administer a network for others
Deploying Perimetery PRO in a workplace or shared environment carries obligations beyond this policy. Employee monitoring is regulated in most jurisdictions and typically requires notice, a lawful basis, proportionality, and often consultation. Confirm your acceptable use policy actually covers what you intend to enforce before you enforce it.
A note on domestic settings
Owning the router does not by itself make every use lawful. Using network control to monitor or restrict a partner, housemate or adult family member against their wishes may constitute coercive control, which is a criminal offence in a number of jurisdictions. If you are being subjected to this, organisations such as Refuge and the Coalition Against Stalkerware provide support.
Enforcement
We terminate licences used in breach of this policy without refund, and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement. Report suspected misuse to security@perimetery.pro.
