No devices appear
- Confirm the app is running as administrator. Without driver access it starts but discovers nothing.
- Check you picked the adapter actually carrying your network traffic, not a VPN or virtual adapter.
- Some networks enable client isolation, particularly guest networks, which prevents devices seeing each other. Connect to the main SSID instead.
- Run a manual Scan. Sleeping devices only appear once they transmit.
"Could not open the network adapter"
The capture driver is missing or inaccessible. Reinstall Perimetery PRO so the bundled WinPcap installer runs again, and make sure you launched as administrator. If you already run Npcap, ensure it was installed in WinPcap-compatible mode.
A limit does not seem to apply
- Confirm the app is still running. Closing it lifts every limit instantly.
- Check you capped the right device. A phone using MAC randomisation can appear as a new entry after rejoining.
- Some devices hold existing connections briefly before the new ceiling takes effect on subsequent traffic.
- Traffic between two devices on your LAN that does not traverse your machine cannot be shaped.
IPv6 networks
Perimetery PRO handles IPv4 traffic. On a dual-stack network, IPv6 traffic is not currently shaped, so a device may retain more throughput than its cap suggests. The app warns you when it detects this. Disabling IPv6 on the router is a workaround if strict enforcement matters.
